President’s Message: What a Year! Wow! Our Board year is almost coming to a conclusion. As I get older the years go by faster and faster. And just as time goes by more quickly, our duties, responsibilities, opportunities, commitments, and relationships seem to exponentially grow. What an exciting time to live in. Who could have ever imagined even 10 years ago the goals that we are now able to accomplish in a relatively short period of time? |

2008 Las Vegas Conference: A First Timer’s Perspective This year I had the opportunity to attend my first MRA conference. It was a fantastic experience. THE END. No, I’m kidding. It was a great experience for me, and I learned quite a bit, not only through workshop sessions, but through the many new contacts I made at the conference. |

Honorary Lifetime Membership Award: On June 6th, MRA recognized Richard Rands to receive the MRA’s highest honor: The Honorary Lifetime Membership Award. This award was presented to Richard at this year’s Annual Conference in New York City by MRA President, Colleen Moore-Mezler. |

Marc A. Waterman
It is with a saddened heart I write a tribute to Marc A. Waterman. Marc passed away peacefully on April 5, 2008. Marc was our Chapter President from 1994-1995 and stayed heavily involved with Chapter activities for a number of years. He turned the Chapter around by getting the NorthWest involved, when it hadn’t been for a while. |

A Springtime MRA Educational Event to Remember
It was a beautiful day in Portland, Oregon on Thursday May 8th, 2008. MRA members from as far away as San Diego and Boise attended the NorthWest Chapter Spring Educational Conference held at the Courtyard Marriot North Harbour.

On Friday, June 6th at the Awards Luncheon at National MRA’s Annual Conference held in New York, Carole Wiedmeyer of Zanthus was honored as this year’s recipient of the Chapter Service Award.
