Chapter History

The Northern California Chapter was incorporated in 1981. In 1996 our bylaws were re-written and the addition of 'Pacific Northwest' was added to our name to better describe the geographic area covered. Our chapter is geographically dispersed encompassing eight states and areas. They are:

  • Alaska
  • Idaho
  • Montana
  • Northern California
  • Oregon
  • Washington
  • Wyoming
  • Northern Nevada
  • Parts of Western Canada

Our Chapter Members work in many types of businesses covering the wide range of the marketing research profession such as Data Collection & Processing; Focus Group Moderators; Full Service Research; Health Care Services; Independent Field Management; Primarily Data Collection; Research (Design & Analysis); Research Consultants; Software Developers/Suppliers; Tabulating just to name a few.

The Board of Directors is representative from the geographical area of the chapter. We meet via conference call once a month and meet in-person once a year.

It is required that the chapter provide our members at least one educational seminar or conference which is usually the Las Vegas Conference and is a joint effort between the Southwest and Southern California Chapters. Also, we provide members with an Annual Holiday Reception, usually held in San Francisco and Seattle.

Our chapter publishes a newsletter called TOPLINE. It is published four times a year and is a great tool to communicate important news and events to our members. We also have a chapter website at www.ncpnwmra.org

It is our chapter's goal to always provide benefit to our members through networking opportunities, educational seminars/conferences and resources to enhance their business and research skills.
